Not all people have cars.  Sometimes even car owners are without their car.  It could be a vacation or business trip need.  Some folks try to avoid long trips in their own car.  They want to avoid the miles of wear and tear on their own vehicle. Businesses for which employees travel a lot have to pay mileage reimbursement.  That’s often in the neighborhood of fifty cents or more per mile.  Add it up – a day if someone drives 100 miles. Renting a car from Dollar car rentals or Budget is only $20 each day, plus $12 for a few gallons of gas is still only $32 for that same 100 mile day. That company would do better with a Dollar car rental.
